Due to our climate, red mites and lice are very common around chickens. Its recommended chickens have access to a bowl of diatomaceous earth or even ash to bathe in to keep the bugs off. To tell if your birds are infected is the lack of eating, pale color, hunched over look and of course physically seeing them. How to remove them I use a couple drops of liquid ivermec on neck and just above the vent. Also clean clean clean!
